«Paradise, perfect word to describe the San Blas Islands in Panama. We had a really good time there and a lot of fun on Judit and Nacho’s sailboat. They knew very well how to organize our time. Both of them are professional and well organized. The boat was comfortable and very clean. Thanks to both for such a good time.»

«My 10-year-old son and I wanted to have an adventure, and a friend in Panama City highly recommended a trip on Pantalasa with Judit and Ignacio. We left Connecticut on a chilly March day, and soon we were pulling up to a gorgeous sailboat in the San Blas Islands. Within an hour we were snorkeling among the most beautiful reefs we’d ever seen, with Judit guiding us and pointing out magical fish. My son and I explored uninhabited islands and played coconut football. Every meal, Ignacio cooked wonderful food – once even cooking pizza with my son in the small galley. They treated us as individuals and were curious about our lives. As a sailing novice, and a woman traveling with a child, I hadn’t realized how important it would be for me to have this strong connection with them. So many moments will stay with me for the rest of my life. Kids grow up fast, and I am so glad and grateful I had this opportunity to share an experience of true beauty and peace with mine. I cannot thank you enough, Judit and Ignacio!»

«As sailors who had chartered bareboats (un-crewed boats) in numerous locations, we approached our 6-days aboard Pantalasa with a bit of unease: would we feel crowded, or miss the freedom to make our own decisions? These questions were immediately dispelled upon meeting Judit and Ignacio, whose company and competence turned out to be a highlight among many highlights of a wonderful experience. They are adept at reading the needs and preferences of their guests;, they shared the most perfect of their favorite anchorages, they prepared excellent meals with the simple ingredients available; and they are awesome sailors who generously shared their experiences, with great conversations. The San Blas islands are a treasure, with pristine, unspoiled coral reefs teeming with fish, and the most dazzling shades of blue. Judit and Ignacio share a deep respect and understanding of the Kuna culture, and have developed warm and cooperative relationships there. We felt honored to be allowed inside this rare experience, like nothing we had known before. We thought we had gone to San Blas for the sailing itself, and while we certainly were not disappointed, we came away with so much more , not least of which was getting to know our outstanding hosts, who made every moment rich and memorable.»

«Our experience with Pantalasa was positive from the first interaction. Judit is a master at communicating and coordinating logistics. She answered my questions and helped arrange transportation to and from the sailboat, which is part of the adventure. Once on board with our three kids, ages 16, 14, and 11, Judit and Ingacio did everything they could to deliver a wonderful experience for us. We spent our days lounging on the boat, skorkeling, and exploring majestic desert islands in the unspoiled Kuna territory. We felt safe and comfortable on the boat as they both have extensive sailing experience and know the local area very well. They created a custom itinerary that gave us just the right amount of timing actually sailing and relaxing at anchorage. We used their snorkel gear and kayak to goof around getting from the boat to the islands. They also arranged a fresh fried fish lunch on one of the islands prepared by a Kuna family that was a highlight. In a world of big hotels and countless tourists, sailing in San Blas is a refreshing experience. Going with Judit and Nacho, who are so welcoming and friendly, will ensure you have a wonderful trip.»

“Thank you again for four wonderful days with you in San Blas. We especially liked the fantastic snorkeling, fishing, crystal clear water and white sandy beaches. Staying with our two kids on your boat worked out really well and we enjoyed your company very much. You definitely know the best spots «above and under» water in the San Blas Islands. We hope to come back soon …
All the best and take care!”

Buena conversacion, deliciosa comida y espectaculares atardeceres. Merece la pena. Muchas gracias, chicos.”

“This trip is one of the best things that we have ever done in our lives. From my first contact with Pantalasa the communication was clear and professional. They are a breeze to deal with. We booked a 7-day charter. Once we met Judit and Ignacio we felt immediately relaxed and comfortable. The logistics and food were all taken care of without effort or fuss, making living and navigating the region seem easy, but we learnt that this is not the case unless you are very attentive, experienced and skilled. Judit and Ignacio seem to have a natural skill with people knowing when to leave you alone to relax and when to push for activity. They were sensitive to our needs the whole trip. Oh… and the snorkelling was fantastic, the aquamarine water, the coral and fish amazing, the Kuna people and culture interesting, deserted islands that make you feel like you’re the only person in the world, the boat was tidy, well maintained and fastidiously clean, and the food was delicious. Not one complaint here. If there is something you need to do in life it is this trip, don’t hesitate San Blas won’t be like this for ever!”

“More than 1 week after having left San Blas we just realise that it was real! We wanted to thank you very sincerely for the few days we spent with you. For your genuine sense of hospitality but also for this rare ability that you have to make people feel unique. Do not change anything! It has been really a pleasure that we hope we will be able to make happen again in the future! We loved it! Panama, we will be back! Judit, Nacho we will be back!”

“Sailing in the San Blas islands offered us a wonderful balance of vacation and activity, complemented by two of the most competent and friendly sailors you’ll ever meet. Not only did every day involve snorkeling in lovely waters, but the beaches are relatively untouched, giving the illusion that many of the islands are your own private island. One day we saw dolphins swimming alongside the boat – what a treat! We loved meeting the Kuna and seeing their handiwork (I regret not buying a mola!). In addition, from the moment we stepped on the boat, Judit and Ignacio did everything they could to make us comfortable. Each meal was specially well thought out and the seafood was delicious. The boat is extremely well maintained and in good shape. We would definitely recommend sailing in the San Blas islands with Pantalasa – two enthusiastic thumbs up!”

“Our vacations in San Blas with Judit and Ignacio is one of our travel highlights around the world. After a busy cancer meeting in Panama City we enjoyed a terrific sailing time in a well-maintained and charming sailboat. Their hospitality and friendship was key for such experience. Swimming, snorkelling in the coral reefs and wildlife watching during daytime was as pleasant as sipping rum while watching sunset in the evening. Food was based in local products (fresh fished lobster, octopus and local fish) served with side dishes superbly prepared despite the challenges posed by a small kitchenette. Ignacio is a great cook and Judit is a key collaborator to make everything flow smoothly and peacefully. As a whole, a highly recommended experience if willing to decompress and avoid stressful life. Will repeat for sure!”

“We went to sail with Pantalasa in San Blas right after Christmas and it was an unforgettable experience. We are frequent travelers but we have rarely seen in our trips such spectacular islands and beautiful beaches. Everything was even more enjoyable thanks to Pantalasa’s crew, that were experienced sailors, they prepared delicious food, were always available whenever we needed anything, they knew very well the area and above all they were friendly and of great company. We really had a wonderful time, the only negative thing is that we didn’t stay longer in this amazing place!”

“A fantastic week in november 2013! Serious, competent and friendly! Our dreams became reality. Pantalasa organised it perfectly… they know very well the whole region, they sail very well, they cook very well and they fullfilled our wishes by organising the best places for snorkeling. The sailing boat also is very well maintained and clean. We just wish to go again with them. A lot of thanks!”

“In February we spent several nights on the sailboat and had a wonderful time in the San Blas paradise with our Pantalasa hosts. Our adventure began with the catch of a delicious tuna which provided for some excellent meals in the coming days. This was really an experience that we will remember and hope to make it back soon to be in nature and do more sailing, snorkeling in the reefs, and walking in the deserted islands.” Carlos y Paola.

“This is the perfect getaway for those of us looking for that genuine health sensual ocean experience. Swim to your own private island, feel warm breezes day and night, dine on the freshest seafood available prepared by a great cook, enjoy conversation with intelligent international travelers. Rustic luxury at its best. Simple the best four days of travel I can remember.”

“We spent some days in San Blas during the Christmas-holidays. WHAT HAPPY DAYS! Felt at home since the first minute. Always relaxed and funny atmosphere, delicious food (wathever we were able to fish or could buy from the Kunas), gain insight Kuna-living, snorkling. Hope we can repeat a trip like this. We definitely can recommend this trip and wish Pantalasa all the best for the future.”

“I sailed with Pantalasa in November, 2012 on assignment for Lonely Planet. It was a total pleasure and I have no hesitation to highly recommend them. My visit was different from the typical vacationer, as I had to plan to see tour operations on many different islands, requiring complicated logistics (and a time limit). While planning, they worked with me extensively through email to plan the trip, suggest the best itinerary, and continue to make adjustments when conditions changed. Responses to my queries were usually swift unless the sailboat was out of contact, in which case I was advised when I could expect a response. Their initial professionalism was absolute.
Once on board, the fun began. The crew proved great hosts, very relaxed and warm, they also maintained an orderly ship. Ignacio is a very experienced captain who shows concern for safety. Through their time in San Blas they have also fostered good relations with the Kuna people, supporting small businesses, bridging cultural differences and supporting artisans with direct purchases. Their knowledge of local culture and respect would enrich anyone’s visit to the San Blas archipelago. If you have time to sail this beautiful region with Pantalasa, do it. No regrets!”

“We had such and amazing time with you both on the boat, it’s a trip we will be talking about for a long long time! We are getting a lot of great comments from the photos we are sending to people! Here are some of my favourites pics (from the 100′s I took!!!). Please let us know when you are in Panama City and we would love to catch up!” Happy sailing, Michelle & James

“The most relaxing week of my life. The nature, the food, the hosts, the sea, the night light,…”

“I spent an idyllic week aboard the Panalasa. The boat is very nice, you made me feel at home as if I was sailing with old friends and the San Blas islands are awe inspiring. Whether sailing the many island chains, fishing (we caught Tuna and Sea Bass that was delicious), or snorkeling out in Caye Hollandais, or meeting and greeting the local Kuna Indians, your adventure will be safe and fun. We went snorkling around Caye Hollandais were we say giant rayes, sharks, Lion fish, cute little Coffre (box) fish. We ate fresh fish or crab most nights, watched the sunsets, and relaxed as only you can on a sailboat. This was one of best sailing trips ever been on. I look forward to my next adventure in the San Blas islands and hope I can stay longer next time. Cheers.”

“My best friend from Germany came to visit us in Panama and we went sailing in San Blas with Pantalasa. The best captains we have had in San Blas and one of the best few days too! Super relaxing, amazing fresh and well balanced food, We felt welcomed on the boat right away and it was like hanging out with good, old friends from the beginning. They sailed us to amazing lonely islands, great snorkeling spots, dolphins and gave us an inhabitant island tour on how the Kuna Indians are living today. The beauty of San Blas, the remoteness and luxury of enjoying white sand beaches by yourself is worth a trip from far away. There are not many places left in the world like San Blas and to experience them by boat is the way to go. My friend is planning a trip back already!”
